I would like to get general comments from all you shadnuts out there, but please make them short and sweet. Include River fished and dates fished. My Shad comment for 2007 follows:
Fished North River in Hanover, MA. 2 trips 05/10/07 - 05/15/07 hooked about 10 american shad night fishing.
From:Hudson River Almanac 5/29/07 - 6/3/07 On 5/29 - Stockport Flats to Catskill, HRM 122-113: The NYSDEC Hudson River Fisheries haul-seining crew netted relatively few fish today, and no American shad. Kris McShane, who coordinates the haul-seining, told me that the crew had netted only 196 American shad this year, significantly less than past years. While those results are disappointing, they could be due to the vagaries of sampling. Commercial shad fishers in the area did reasonably well this spring. Reported by - Steve Stanne

Early June I took a few hickory shad in the Mill Pond, Orleans, MA.
I will delete comments that are too wordy or are not on topic. I want this to be a good reference for shad fishermen. Thanks, Woo
In your comments the state fished, number hooked, shad type, and run overall evaluation are also useful if you are so inclined. Thanks.
